Welcome to The University of Scranton's Residence Life web page.

The University of Scranton's residence program provides housing for over 2,300 students in 25 residence halls and 10 University houses. Our approach to on-campus housing is a major factor why our students feel such a strong sense of community. Our 81 Resident Assistants are constantly training and working to provide quality programs that are designed to inspire, motivate, challenge, inform and soothe the heart, mind, body and spirit.

The following are the goals and objectives of our residence program:

  • Create a caring community among students in the residence halls which is based on respect for self, others, and the environment

  • Provide educational and social activities/programs that engage students and encourage them to broaden their perspective as well as challenge pre-conceived notions and opportunities to engage students in thought-provoking conversations

  • Provide students with skills to successfully live in a community with others with a focus on enhancing interpersonal communication skills

  • Create an atmosphere conducive to enhancing the academic mission of the University of Scranton by providing residence halls that are clean, safe, and conducive to study

  • Provide all students with the background and knowledge to appreciate the Ignation tradition of the University of Scranton and recognize that tradition in our activities in the residence halls

  • Enhance the Resident Assistant's capacity to lead people by instilling in them the vision of the residence program and providing them with on-going training, development, and personal growth opportunities that will enable them to guide others to follow that direction
