Fitzpatrick Field, home to the Royal field hockey, men's and women's soccer, and men's and women's lacrosse teams, underwent major renovations this past summer with the installation of Field Turf and a new drainage system. Fitzpatrick Field is located on campus behind the historic Radisson Lackawanna Station Hotel.

            Toby Lovecchio, director of athletics at The University of Scranton, has announced the appointment of Kevin Dugan as head men’s lacrosse coach in July 2006.

Dugan is the fourth coach to be named since the program began competing on the intercollegiate level in 1987 and the first to serve on a full-time basis.   In his first season, Dugan's attention to detail, hard work and dedication led the Royals to  seven wins, the most for the program since 2003, and an appearance in the Middle Atlantic Conference tournament, the third in school history.

“Kevin was the logical choice among the many outstanding candidates who applied for the position,” says Lovecchio.  “Having played here for two seasons, he is familiar with our program and really understands and embraces our Jesuit identity and mission.  In addition, he has coaching experience as an assistant and head coach on both the NCAA Division I and III levels. I look forward to working with him to develop our program to be among the best in the Middle Atlantic Conference and to be competitive on the national level as well.  He really understands and embraces our Jesuit identity and mission.”
