Comparison of Cognitive, Behavior and Pharmacological Treatments for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder
Amanda M. Skrzysowski

Obsessive-compulsive disorder can be a crippling disorder that many people face everyday. Participants, both males and females, involved in this study will be gathered from a clinic and willingly wish to participate in the study. A Yale-Brown Obsessive-Compulsive Scale will be administered in order to determine the severity of the new patient’s obsessive and compulsive symptoms. This study compares cognitive, behavior and pharmacological treatments for OCD to determine which has the greatest impact on controlling this disorder. Patients will be treated and observed for eight weeks. Individuals treated with drug and behavior therapies should respond better, while individuals treated by cognitive therapy should be less likely to respond to treatment.
