My name is Laura Carroll and I am a certified
Aerobic Instructor currently teaching aerobic classes at the YMCA
in Dunmore, Pennsylvania on a part time basis. I am also a Legal
Assistant working in the General Counsel’s Office of the University
of Scranton. I have always been interested in keeping fit.
This interest led me into taking classes to become a certified instructor.
I received my certification from the Aerobic
Fitness Association of America (AFAA) and I have been teaching for
roughly 4 years. Please contact
me with any questions or comments.
Physical activity is popular among all
ages. Keeping active and eating healthy reduces cardiovascular disease,
loss of bone density, cholesterol, and obesity. There are many different
activities that can be performed to keep a person physically fit.
The three main categories of activities, which should be included in your
weekly routines, are aerobic training, weight training, and flexibility.
I will discuss each of these separately on the following pages.
