Sadko's Early Years
- Transylvania
after the war
- Sadko was born in a
small village near Cluj in what is now Romania
- He worked his way
across the face of postwar Europe by selling chestnuts and pieces of lumber
from an old horse cart
- He picked up an appreciation of village music
from these hard times
- An occasional bottle of Moldavian wine also
helped

- Working as a simple
