What is Sigma Tau Delta?

Sigma Tau Delta is the International English Honor Society.

Sigma Tau Delta's central purpose is to confer distinction upon students of the English language and literature in undergraduate, graduate, and professional studies. Sigma Tau Delta also recognizes the accomplishments of professional writers who have contributed to the fields of language and literature.

One of the largest members of the Association of College Honor Societies, Sigma Tau Delta has over 600 active chapters, more than 900 faculty sponsors, and inducts approximately 7,000 members annually. Our members have the opportunity to be recognized for their outstanding achievements, enrich their education, help them make career choices, and advance their careers.

The success of the Mu Omicron Chapter of Sigma Tau Delta:
Since 2002, our students have won three scholarships and awards, and been runner-up for three other awards and scholarships; we've won one project grant, and made twelve presentations at the national convention. We've been involved with on-campus events such as movie nights, and we've extended our presence into the local community through our work with local schools. We've even gone international and supported the start-up of a chapter in Cameroon.  For more information about our chapter and achievements, please click the underlined text.
