Article I
Name: SECUS (Student Education
Club of the
Purpose: SECUS is organized to bring together students with a mutual
interest in Education and to provide academic and social enrichment for its
members.
Goals:
To provide an atmosphere to stimulate social interaction among club members
and promote a unified community environment through club discussion meetings,
lectures, and social affairs.
Article IV
Membership:
Section 1. Membership shall be open to all students of
the University regardless of race, creed, sex, color, national origin, major,
or class standing.
Section 2. Membership fee shall be set at the first meeting
of each year.
Article V
Officers:
Section 1. All officers shall be club members.
(Active shall be those who pay dues and attend 90% of all meetings.)

c. Secretary
d. Treasurer
Section 3. Duties of the Officers:
a. The President shall preside at all
meetings and shall be chairperson of the Executive Committee, shall be a
member of all standing committees, and perform all other
duties pertaining to the office.
b. The Vice President, in the absence
of the President shall fulfill the duties of the office of President.
In case of
permanent vacancy in the office of the President, the Vice
President shall be a member of the executive committee.
c. The Secretary shall keep the record
of the proceedings of the Association meetings, and be responsible for
recording all club activities.
d. The Treasurer shall keep an accurate
record of all money received and/or paid out.
Section 4. Nominations and Elections:
a. Nomination shall be made from the
floor at a meeting toward the end of each school year.
b. The active member shall vote by
secret ballot immediately following nominations.
c. A Quorum is mandatory for this meeting.
d. All officers shall be elected by
majority vote.
Article VI
Meetings:
Section 2. Meetings will not be held during the months
of June, July, August, or January.
Article VII
Amendments: This Constitution may be amended at any meeting
to which proper notice is given if ratified by 2/3 of the club members.
