Mission

To develop and maintain a comprehensive (print and electronic) records management program for the University of Scranton. This includes promoting sound records management principles, supporting access to information for legal, financial and operational decisions, and assisting in the appraisal of historical university records and delivery of them the University Archives.


Program Rationale

The University of Scranton Records Management program provides a systematic plan designed to assist campus departments and offices with the creation, use, maintenance, retention, disposition, and preservation of all types of records for the purpose of meeting the university's legal requirements, reducing costs associated with office space, increasing efficiency, and ensuring that records of permanent value are preserved and obsolete records destroyed.
