The United Colors House serves as a multicultural residence for United Colors members and others who are willing to both learn and educate other students on issues of diversity. Multiculturalism is very important to students. Therefore, residents will learn to appreciate each other’s cultures with the emphasis being on learning more about different cultures. Thus, it is a good preparation for life beyond the University of Scranton.
Since the house serves to fulfill the objectives of the United Colors Organization, so too will house members be involved in the activities of the United Colors. They will be able to participate in workshops, community service activities, and other co-curricular activities. However, aside from the activities of the United Colors Organization, residents will be committed to the education of other students through house events. This will be done through ethnic activities, traditions, and service programs and presentations. Most of these activities are aimed to invite other University students in, to share in the diversity. Our hope is to accomplish those students will establish and maintain a tradition of being open-minded, enthusiastic and supportive of other cultures.
Residents will work together as one group to accomplish these objectives.
