Darwin Chanaba introduced an "idea" of the Latino Student Association to UofS. A vision of an organization that would cater the needs of ALL students; a vision of providing students with the professional skills that will be demanded from them in their journey to success; a vision of establishing an organization unlike any other at the University of Scranton.

Banners were placed everywhere on campus and it was designed so that everywhere people would turn. Hard work and perseverance drove Darwin Chanaba to forward this message to 18 students, as they signed in interest. All 18 students were contacted, and were invited to the first meeting on Spring 2007.
