Spring 2009 Award Judges:
Poetry:
Jonathan Sondej, class of 2008, was Editor-in-Chief of Esprit.
His poem "Amphibian" received the Berrier Poetry Award in Fall 2007,
and his short story "Sun Daze" received the Berrier Prose Award in
Spring 2008. In August, he begins work as a writing consultant at
Georgetown University while pursuing a Masters in English.
Prose:
Andi Frankenburger, class of 2008, was an editor and Production Manager for Esprit. Her poems "Implications," "Dirty Dishes," "Portrait of el guia," an "Woman with a Beard" were published by Esprit in 2007 and 2008. She received The Esprit Photography Award in 2005 for her photograph El Murro. A Fulbright scholar to Argentina, she will serve as an English Teaching Assistant in 2009.
Photography:
Lisa Hinkle is an
assistant professor at Marywood University, from which she received her
M.F.A. She teaches history of photography and all levels of studio
photography. She is currently at work on a collection of her photographs.
