Windowed World

Siobhan Casey

Do the leaves sprout
Eyes and hands and

Souls when the
Lantern sun sets
     Deep inside them?

Does the light
Meet the flowered

Eye blinked green and
Leave a breathing,
     Warm-taut womb?

In the slant of
Living hours

Nature stares,
Seduces, swivels

A leveled gaze
Back in my
     Eyes, limbs

Fanning fired
Leaves, berried juice,

Basking before the
Window screen,
     Deaf to the pendulum

Of time, the rise and
Fall of day, the clanging

Sphere of sun
Turned moon,
     Lit terrible and blue.
