Fall 2008 Award Judges:

Poetry:

Andi Frankenburger, class of 2008, was an editor and Production Manager for Esprit. Her poems “Implications,” “Dirty Dishes,” “Portrait of el guía” and “Woman with a Beard” were published by Esprit in 2007 and 2008. She received The Esprit Photography Award in 2005 for her photograph El Murro. A Fulbright scholar to Argentina, she will serve as an English Teaching Assistant in 2009.

Prose:

Jonathan Sondej, class of 2008, was Editor-in-Chief of Esprit. His poem “Amphibian” received
the Berrier Poetry Award in Fall 2007, and his short story “Sun Daze” received the
Berrier Prose Award in Spring 2008.

Photography:

Lisa Hinkle is an assistant professor at Marywood University, from which she received her M.F.A. She teaches history of photography and all levels of studio photography. She is currently a finalist for the Belin Arts Scholarship. She has a show opening at the Butternut Gallery in Montrose in August.
