About Us

Vision

The Employee Wellness Program Wellness Works for a Healthier You is dedicated to helping staff and faculty live healthier lives.  At its core, the program is inspired by Cura Personalis, the care for the person; body, mind and spirit.  Through a variety of programs, classes, health assessments, health coaching and incentives, staff and faculty are encouraged to begin to take small steps towards significant health benefits.

The Wellness Program was launched in 2008 and is a collaboration between the Center for Health Education and Wellness (CHEW) in the Division of Student Affairs and the Office of Human Resources. The Wellness Committee is comprised of staff and faculty from various departments and serves as a champion for wellness issues on campus. In addition the committee generates program ideas, represents the various constituencies and evaluates the program.

Program Highlights

The highlight of the year is Wellness Day for Faculty and Staff.  It is a daylong event with complimentary lunch that all staff and faculty are invited to attend.   Past presentations included; Exercise for osteoarthritis, financial fitness, gardening, laugh yoga, meditation and wii fit.  Staff were able to experience yoga, tai chi, or Zumba.  Health screenings were offered.

Three Pillars of Wellness

To encourage staff and faculty participation, financial incentives are offered.  They are earned by accumulating points in the three pillars (learn more).
