Justice-related University Resources
|
During the 2009-2010 academic year, the Education for Justice Office is sponsoring University-wide reflection on the theme of food. This can take the form of public lectures, club activities, course assignments, and informal conversation. Faculty and student research on that theme will be recognized in various ways. Individuals or groups who hope to promote this reflection may contact the Education for Justice Office for assistance. |

University of Scranton students and staff contributed the pictures and names of more than 200 family members who came to what is now the United States between 1654 and 2004. They came from all over the world, and from over 40 countries. Surrounding the mosaic is a poem by Langston Hughes celebrating the beauty of the faces, the eyes, the souls of “my people”. |

"The university should be present
intellectually where it is needed:
to provide science for those who have no science;
to provide skills for the unskilled;
to be a voice for those who do not possess the academic qualifications
to promote and legitimate their rights."
- Rev. Peter-Hans Kolvenbach, S.J.
