Each officer
must meet all of the following requirements:
-
Shall be a declared accounting major currently
enrolled in or have passed two accounting courses.
-
Shall be in good academic standing with an overall
GPA of at least 3.00, and an average GPA in his/her accounting
courses of at least 3.00.
-
Shall have paid dues for the academic years
overlapping the term of office.
-
Shall have attended at least two-thirds of the
Society's activities during the academic year or have demonstrated
sufficient interest and participation in the Society's activities
as determined by the moderator.

President
The President shall be in charge of
coordinating all of the activities of the other officers.
Additionally, the President shall:
-
Preside over Society meetings.
-
Contact appropriate professionals to establish a
program of activities for the Society.
-
Submit a Registration Form to the Office of Student
Activities by the second Friday of September.
-
Submit to the Director of Student Activities by
November 15 for the following Spring semester and by April 30 for
the following Fall semester:
-
The names, addresses and phone numbers of all
officers and moderators.
-
A proposed calendar for events for the following
semester. A budget request form outlining expected
semester revenue and expenditures.
-
Submit any other forms or documentation required by
the Office of Student Activities or other University of Scranton
administrative offices.
-
Provide the moderator with copies of all
organization correspondence and forms submitted to the various
administrative offices as they are submitted.
-
Notify the moderator of all meetings, including time
and location, prior to the meetings.

Vice-President

Treasurer
The Treasurer shall:
-
Collect the dues and maintain an up-to-date record
of the names of those students who have paid dues for the academic
year.
-
Make deposits and disbursements.
-
Keep proper documentation for all
disbursements.
-
Prepare a budget for each semester as required by
the Director of Student Activities.
-
Prepare quarterly balance sheets and cash flow
statements for the periods ending: May 30, August 31, November 30,
and February 28.
-
Prepare an annual balance sheet and cash flow
statement for the year ended May 30.
-
Prepare any tax forms required for the
organization.
-
Make available to the moderator copies of the items
upon request.
-
Turnover all records, in good form, to his or her
successor upon completion of his or her term in office

Secretary
The Secretary shall:
-
Record the minutes for the organization's
meetings.
-
Prepare correspondence for the organization to its
members and to external parties. Maintain a current list
of the membership including their names, addresses and phone
numbers.
-
Take membership attendance at the Society's
functions.
-
Keep a current list of "eligible voting members",
including their names, addresses and phone numbers.
-
Provide the moderator with copies of the items
above, upon request.
-
Turnover all records, in good form, to his or her
successor upon completion of his or her term in
office.

Executive Committee
-
The officers and the moderator(s) shall constitute
an executive committee empowered to transact all chapter business,
if necessary, except the election of officers, provided that the
acts of the committee are reported to the membership in a timely
manner.

Elections shall take place once a year during the
second semester. Only "eligible voting members" are
permitted to vote in elections. Students shall run as
"tickets", with each ticket being composed of a candidate for
president, a candidate for vice-president, a candidate for
secretary, and a candidate for treasurer.
Elections
will be taken by ballot with a simple majority of those members
voting constituting an election. The elected officers shall
be from the ticket that received a majority of the votes. If a
majority is not achieved, then a run-off election between the top
two tickets shall take place by secret ballot by those members
eligible to vote.

Term of Office
The tenure of office shall extend for
one year or until the Society shall remove any officer for reasons
stated in the next section.

Removal of an Officer
An office may be declared vacant by a majority
vote of the Society's members in attendance at a meeting or by
declaration of the moderator for continued absence of, inability
of, or lack of responsibility by an officer with regard to the
administration of the duties of his or her office. This vacancy
may be filled by a special election.
