Originally from  Wales , she received her B.Sc. (Hons) from the London School of Economics, and came to the U.S. on a Fulbright Scholarship to Penn State University. She received both her MS and Ph.D. in  Geography from Penn State , and then earned an Advanced Professional Certificate in International Business from  New York University's Stern Graduate School of Business . Her recent publications have focused on strategies for internationalization and computerization, and on internationalizing business curricula. Her on-going research is concerned with the locational strategies of foreign-based versus domestic firms.

Dr. Trussler is active in many areas of International Business. On campus, she is Director of the  IB Program , and teaches courses such as Environment of International Business, European Business, Business in China, Economic Geography, and the Seminar in International Business. In a broader context, she recently (1996-1998) served as Vice-President, Administration of the  Academy of International Business (AIB), a worldwide organization with more than 2600 members in fifty countries. She served as Chair of the Northeast USA  (AIB-NE) Chapter of the Academy from 1994-1996, and as program chair and proceedings editor in 1993 and 1994.

Beyond her duties and interests in International Business, Dr. Trussler serves as the University of Scranton's  Fulbright Program Advisor.

On the non-academic front, she is active in many local organizations notably the Northeast Pennsylvania Adoptive Parents Support Group, the local China Kids Group  (Families with Children from China) and Scranton Community Concerts.
