| You need to place your abstract between
the title of your RML page and the rest of the page (your annotated
citations and other links). Your abstract will look like how the previous page just explained: *This proposal was written in partial fulfillment of requirements for an undergraduate research methods course and is not intended to be carried out.* Physical Neglect in Institutionalized Foster
Care Leads to Cognitive Disabilities The intention of this study is to correlate the physical neglect that takes place in institutionalized foster care to cognitive isabilities in the child. The study will be conducted in the northeastern United States, so results will be based on institutions in that area. The purpose of the study to to show that the more physical neglect a child recieves, the more debilitating the effects on cognitive abilities. Studies show that physical neglect does occur more often in foster care institutions than in stable homes. Likewise, emotional disabilities have been traced to the same physical neglect from institutions. The cognitive abilities of the child will be measured by utilizing Stanford-Binet and Weschler scales, while the amount of physical neglect will be assesed by trained interviewers. Also assesed for possible correlations will be the amount of physical abuse and emotional neglect. If these results show the proposed hypothesis to be true, measures can be taken to improve the environments of foster care, so that children will be able to develop in a more nurturing environment. ALSO, make sure to place links on each of your Virtual Poster pages to each of the other parts of your poster. (That is, make sure you have links for your Abstract (your RML page), Introduction, Methods, Expected Results & Future Research, and References on each of those pages.) SUPER IMPORTANT! Make sure to place the disclaimer on each and every page! *This proposal was written in partial fulfillment of requirements for an undergraduate research methods course and is not intended to be carried out.* For an example on what your virtual poster should look like, click here. |
