Making Posters Using Publisher
You'll Have a 22 inch Wide by 36 inch Tall Space:
Use it Wisely!!
Open Publisher
Select File, New
Set your margins (Choose Page Setup from the File Menu, then go to Poster
).
Select 24 x 36
Now - change the 24 to 22, by typing the number in
Make sure that Portrait is selected
Click Okay
Use Fonts:
Title - use [we suggest, but you can pick your font (NOT courier new)] Something from the Sans family, Bold, 96 Point
Name - Same as above (or font of choice), Bold, 64 Point
Headings - some Sans (or font of choice), Bold, 28 Point
Text - same as above (or font of choice), 24 Point - Do NOT use Bold
Double space after headings (OPTIONAL - See how it looks)
Single space text
Double space between paragraphs and do not tab the first sentence of a new paragraph
You'll be saving the rain forests because you won't be "printing" on dead trees - you'll be "virtually"printing!!
Go to File-Print
Select CutePDF Writer
Click on Properties
Click on Paper/Quality
Click on Advanced...
Open the window next to Paper Size: and pick 22 x 36 in (it's pretty high in a very long list)
Click OK
Click OK
Click OK
Use your Scranton e-mail prefix (mine is cannon) as your filename and save the file somewhere rational
View your file by opening Adobe and take a look
If you like what you see, submit through Assignments using the filename you've already given the file - no special additonal naming instructions
Sit back and relax while elves take care of the printing :)
