| This is an example of what your annotated citations on
the web
should resemble. If you are to find two
articles that pertain to a
topic, you put both references on the web, but you annotate and react
to only one
of them (pick your favorite!). All of your references should be in
roughly APA style. ***To get hanging indents, type the document using Microsoft Word, and then paste the text (formatted with hanging indents in Word) into a new document on Google Docs and Spreadsheets. This formatting will remain. Annotated Citation #1 Bolles, R.
C. & Fanselow, M. S. (1980). A perceptual-defensive-recuperative model of
fear and pain. The Behavioral and Brain Sciences, 3, 291-323. This paper discusses the role
of the amygdala in fear as indicated by anatomical connections to other brain
structures and the elicitation of fear by electrical stimulation. The
distinction between fear and anxiety is approached as well as a discussion of
conditioned fear versus non-conditioned fear. Finally, a brief discussion of
drugs, including anxiolytics, (anxiety reducing agents), is pursued. I particularly appreciated
this article for its clarity and content. Because it is a review article,
it overviewed very much of what was known about the role of the amygdala in
fear, which allowed me to catch up a bit on the field. |
