This is an example of what your annotated citations on the web should resemble. Remember, you are to find at least three articles from the library that pertain to the topic you have chosen for your proposal. You put all three references on the web, but you only need to annotate and react to one of them (pick a favorite!). So let's say that of the three articles following, the Davis (1992) article is the one that most pertains to my topic "The anatomical correlates of fear." This is the one I will annotate and react to. All your references must be in APA style!  Hint: Compose the following in Word and then save your work as a web document.  Remember that Word will end the document with .htm, not .html -  make sure your file name and links agree.  The easiest way to do hanging indents for APA style references is discussed here.

Bolles, R. C. & Fanselow, M. S. (1980). A perceptual-defensive-recuperative model of fear and pain. The Behavioral and Brain Sciences, 3, 291-323.

Davis, M. (1992). The role of the amygdala in fear and anxiety. Annual Review of Neuroscience, 15, 353-376.

This paper discusses the role of the amygdala in fear as indicated by anatomical connections to other brain structures and the elicitation of fear by electrical stimulation. The distinction between fear and anxiety is approached as well as a discussion of conditioned fear versus non-conditioned fear. Finally, a brief discussion of drugs, including anxiolytics (anxiety reducing agents), is pursued.

I particularly appreciated this article for its clarity and content.  Because it is a review article, it overviewed very much of what was known about the role of the amygdala in fear, which allowed me to catch up a bit on the field.
