Any educator who is outstanding is one who cares about children, cares about his or her students, and cares about the quality of his or her instruction.
Genuine caring to the well being ot children in general is a quality that I have observed in people who are truly successful at teaching. It isoften the reason that they went into the profession in the first place. This type of person is more than just tolerant of the ways of children, but appreciates how to utilize their ways to create a learning environment that is full of wonder.
As parents think their children are the best of all children, good teachers feel that their students are the best and brightest when compared to students ot other teachers. Good teachers wil see to it that nurture take itscourse to ensure that those in their charge will engage in a learning experience that begins under the teacher's supervision, and some day will continue with self supervision.
Outstanding teachers are reflective about the quality of their instruction. They are liberal enough to consider whether their methods were as effective as possible. Instructional time is extremely valuable and must be used in a most deliberate manner. In order to ensure this, a teacher must self evaluate constantly, periodically seek peer and supervisory evaluations, and continue in their own informal and formal education.Educators who care about the quality of their teaching, and care about their students and the rest of the children in the world are well on their way to becoming "outstanding".
