Your valid Royal Card is your library card; you must have your Royal Card to checkout books, use other circulation services, photocopy or print from the databases.
Borrowing Library Materials: General Rules and Policies
Loan Period
Books are checked out for 30 days at a time.Renewals
Books may be renewed up twice during a semester provided there are no holds by other patrons on the book; each renewal period is 30 days. Renewals can be by phone (570-941-7524) or by using My Account.Overdue Fines
Fines are 10¢ per day per item, with a maximum fine of $10.00 per item. Patrons with unreturned books are charged $70.00 per book for their replacement. If it is necessary to submit an account to our collection agency, the cost is $80.00 per book.Audiovisual Materials
Videos and DVD's are to be used in the Library; students may borrow music CDs and tapes for three days.Non-Circulating Material
Reference books, journals, and Special Collection materials may not be checked out.Course Reserves
Books and articles placed on reserve for University of Scranton courses may be checked out at the Circulation Desk for the time specified by the professor. Fines differ for the length of time the materials may be checked out. Call numbers for print course reserves may be found in the Library’s catalog by searching Course Reserves.Some course materials are placed on Electronic Reserve on the Library’s electronic reserves server, www.libres.scranton.edu. Your professor will provide you with the course password.
Laptops
Laptops and peripherals are checked out for 3 hours; they may renewed if no other patrons are waiting. Laptop fines accrue at the rate of $20 per hour per item. Laptops must not be left unattended.
