Thunderbird - Resend not Forward

Have you ever been asked to resend an email because the recipient either deleted the orginal or claimed it was never received? If so, try this time on the next request.

How to:

  1. Click the "Sent folder" under the "All Folders" list. (Sent mail resides in the Sent folder under under "Local Mail" unless the preference was changed to "Royal Mail".
  2. "Right-click" on the message that you want to resend.
  3. Click the menu "Edit as New".
    Or
    Select the email and then use the keyboard shortcut (Ctrl+E) to open the message.
  4. If necessary, edit the message or add any additional recpients (Cc.).
  5. Click the "Sent button" to send the message out again.

Note that if you had chosen to forward the email it would require adding an address, whereas sending it again does not.
