Layout and Ruler Guides
Layout Guides
- The layout guides are non-printing blue and pink lines used to help keep your page design consistent throughout your project.
- Similiar to the Ruler Guides they can be used to snap frames into alignment. Under the menu Tools click on Snap to Guides and proceed as using the Ruler Guides.
- To change the position of a Layout Guide click on the menu View and then click on Go to Background.

Ruler Guides
- Under the menu Arrange | Ruler Guides, click on one of the options listed to add a horizontal or vertical ruler guide. The option to format or clear all ruler guides is located in this menu.
- To adjust the guide's location place the cursor on the line and when the arrow changes to a two-headed arrow drag the guide to the new location.
- If you cannot reposistion the quide it may be in locked position. To unlock the guide click on the menu Snap, then remove the checkmarks from the submenu.

Adding Additional Pages
- Click on the menus Insert | Pages, and then click on the drop-down arrow to make the appropriate choice.
Adding Page Numbers
- Click on the menus Insert | Page Numbers, to open the Page Numbers' dialog box.
- Type a number for the number of new pages that you want to add.
- Click in the areas provided to add new pages Before or After the current page.
- Under the label Options, click in the area that fits your needs.
