Layout and Ruler Guides

Layout Guides

  1. The layout guides are non-printing blue and pink lines used to help keep your page design consistent throughout your project.

  2. Similiar to the Ruler Guides they can be used to snap frames into alignment. Under the menu Tools click on Snap to Guides and proceed as using the Ruler Guides.

  3. To change the position of a Layout Guide click on the menu View and then click on Go to Background.

 

Ruler Guides

  1. Under the menu Arrange | Ruler Guides, click on one of the options listed to add a horizontal or vertical ruler guide. The option to format or clear all ruler guides is located in this menu.

  2. To adjust the guide's location place the cursor on the line and when the arrow changes to a two-headed arrow drag the guide to the new location.

  3. If you cannot reposistion the quide it may be in locked position. To unlock the guide click on the menu Snap, then remove the checkmarks from the submenu.

Adding Additional Pages

  1. Click on the menus Insert | Pages, and then click on the drop-down arrow to make the appropriate choice.

Adding Page Numbers

  1. Click on the menus Insert | Page Numbers, to open the Page Numbers' dialog box.
  2. Type a number for the number of new pages that you want to add.
  3. Click in the areas provided to add new pages Before or After the current page.

  4. Under the label Options, click in the area that fits your needs.
