 After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in German and Political Science from the University of Scranton in 1970, he received the degree of Juris Doctor from The Catholic University of America, in Washington, D.C., in 1973. He has attended and otherwise participated in continuing legal education programs, including those of th e Attorney General's Advocacy Institute.

Atty. Cimini regularly teaches The American Court System, Criminal Justice Process, Criminal Law, The Bill of Rights and Criminal Justice, Principles of Evidence, Trial, Jury and Counsel, and Civil Liability. He also offers a course entitled "Crime and Aging" in the Gerontology major and he has been part of the faculty group which proposed the Catholic Studies Program. He is moderator of the Criminal Justice Club. His article, "Alternative Dispute Resolution in the Criminal Justice Process," appears in Volume 10, number 2 of The Justice Professional (1997).

 Atty. Cimini is past president of the Northeastern Association of Criminal Justice Sciences. He presently is the Treasurer of the Pennsylvania Sociological Society. He also served as Secretary ('97-'98) of the University of Scranton Alumni Society.

 He was a law clerk to Judge Edwin M. Kosik and then for five (5) years was an Assistant United States Atto rney prior to becoming a full-time member of the University of Scranton faculty in 1980. From 1981 to 1992 he held the part-time office of United States Magistrate Judge, in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.

 Atty. Cimini's research interests are the American legal system (judges and lawyers, substantive criminal law and criminal procedure, alternative dispute resolution), local history (his Faculty-Student Research Program topic), and Ameri can railroads (history, industry, leisure-time activity).

 His personal interests are American railroads (riding, photographing, studying and modeling), local history (he is a trustee and past president of The Lackawanna Historical Society), traveling, photography, major league baseball and vintage vehicles (especially Packards and Ford Mustangs).
