The University of Scranton Department of Public Safety Vacation Reminders During the breaks, many of you will be leaving the area for a few days. Burglaries in the residence halls/apartments usually increase during vacation periods.

Follow these simple suggestions before you leave for any extended period of time:

• Make sure all doors are locked.
• Make sure all windows are locked regardless of the floor you live on.
• Don't rely on someone else to "lock up properly." DO IT YOURSELF!
• If you see any suspicious activity in your residence hall, call security immediately. Money or valuables should not be left in your room.
• If you have questions about securing your room properly, ask your resident assistant or the Student Affairs Office. They will be happy to answer your questions.
