October Crime Prevention Tip

Sexual Assault Awareness Tips

There is no perfect way to protect yourself, but there are simple things you can do to minimize your risk. Just take a minute to think about what you do…And remember-

Be Alert!

  • Show that you're in control-walk with confidence.

  • Be aware of your surroundings - who's out there and what's going on.

  • Don't let alcohol or other drugs decrease your ability to take care of yourself and make sensible decisions.

  • Be assertive - don't let anyone violate your space.

  • Leave social events with friends not with someone you just met or don't know well.

  • Trust your gut feelings. If a place or the way someone acts makes you nervous or uneasy, leave.
