Our Mission
Led
by the Holy Spirit, University Ministries at the University of Scranton
seeks to engage all members of the community in promoting and living
out the Gospel values of Jesus Christ. Inspired by the Spirituality of
Saint Ignatius of Loyola and strengthened by the sacramental life of
the Church, we are committed to using our God-given talents by reaching
out with love and respect to all through our service for peace and
justice, education, prayer, worship and faith formation.
Welcome!
University
Ministries seeks to assist all University of Scranton students, faculty
and staff, regardless of creed, to become knowledgeable, committed, and
active participants in their respective faith traditions. All are
welcome-- take a look at some of the possibilities!
About University Ministries
University
Ministries
offers Sunday mass, daily mass and the Sacrament of Reconciliation, as
well as special liturgies that gather the entire University community.
We have numerous opportunities for service, both nationally and
internationally, and we provide time and space to reflect on those
service experiences in a faith-based, justice-focused context. In
addition, we hold many different types of retreats at our own
beautiful lakeside Retreat Center and have faith sharing groups right
here on campus.
On the University
campus there are numerous opportunities to learn more about the
Catholic/Christian faith, and to pray and share faith with students,
faculty and staff.
Our Jesuit Tradition
Our Jesuit Tradition and history reaches back nearly 500 years
to the teachings, life and insights of Saint Ignatius Loyola.
