All full time undergraduate students are eligible for the full range of services offered and subject to all of the requirements of Student Health Services. All services are covered by mandatory student fees paid by each full time undergraduate student. • Written orders signed by the prescribing physician including the extract name, dosage schedule to be followed (including alteration of dosage due to being late for appointment dates), date of the most recent injection, and any special considerations
  • An appointment must be scheduled during physician or nurse practitioner hours
  • Extracts with orders will be stored in refrigerator in Student Health Services.
  • Students must remain in Student Health Services for a minimum of 20 minutes for observation and inspection of injection site before leaving.
  • Student Health Services reserves the right to refer a student who is experiencing adverse reactions to injections or those who delay injections beyond their prescribed schedule to his/her physician for further orders or injections. This is in the interest of safety for those students.
  • Students are responsible for contacting private physician for new extracts.

NOTE: Student Health Services cannot administer allergy injections to students who have a history of experiencing anaphylactic reactions to injections.

AFTER HOURS CARE/EMERGENCIES
We encourage students with minor illness or injury to come to Student Health Services during our hours of operation. However, emergency illnesses and injuries that occur at night or on weekends can be treated at any of the three hospitals (Moses Taylor Hospital, Community Medical Center and Mercy Hospital) located within a few blocks of campus. Emergency transportation is available by Lackawanna Ambulance Service and can be accessed through Residence Life staff or the Department of Public Safety (941-7777). Payment for emergency transports (through insurance or private payment) is arranged by the provider and the student.
