“A university is by its very nature... a group of questioners.”-- John Martin

My work in health careadministration education started in 1993 when I joined the University of Scranton faculty. This is a second career for me, which builds on my earlier hospital administration career. My previous fourteen years in executive positions at a community hospital, a teaching hospital, and a regional medical center gave me broad experience in what I teach and what ourhealth administration programs must prepare students to do. As withother faculty members in this department, practical experience in the subject matter strengthens my teaching and enables me to combine theory and practice in the education of students. It has also enhanced my scholarship that has focused on two broad areas of study – the relationship ofhealth organizations with their external environments, and, community health. Aside from my professional interests, I enjoy reading, traveling, and music.
