B.A., M.A., Ph.D., University of Texas

Stephen Whittaker completed his B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. at the University of Texas at Austin, with specialties in Modern Irish and British Literature and in Philosophy. He regularly teaches in these areas, as well as specialty courses on Irish Culture, James Joyce, Women's Literature, and Woody Allen. For SJLA students he offers The Trivium in the Philosophy Department. His particular area of research is the intersection of philosophy and literature, especially Plato among the Moderns. Dr. Whittaker serves as Faculty Moderator for Esprit, the University of Scranton Review of Arts and Letters.
