Rebecca Beal received her B.A. in English and in French from Westmont College, her M.A. in Comparative Literature from the University of Chicago, and her Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from the University of Texas at Austin.  Dr. Beal is moderator of Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honor Society.  She specializes in medieval literature, and so has participated in National Endowment for the Humanities summer seminars ("Medieval Book," "Arthurian Institute"), has won a fellowship from the NEH to study Dante's iconography.  She teaches courses in medieval literature, composition, and literary theory.

Dr. Beal is a member of the Dante Society of America, the International Arthurian Society, the Modern Language Association, Sigma Tau Delta, and the New Chaucer Society.
