Leadership Opportunity:

The Dexter Hanley College Student Government is always inviting applications for membership. We are seeking interested and dedicated men and women to fill seats in Student Government.


Purposes:

The purposes of the Dexter Hanley College Student Government are to:

  1. Provide a forum for the expression of student views and interests.

  2. Represent the Dexter Hanley College student body an affairs of The University of Scranton.

  3. Provide and encourage academic freedom, academic responsibility and student leadership.

  4. Enhance student moral, spiritual, cultural, social and physical welfare.

  5. Promote better educational standards, facilities and teaching techniques.

  6. Promote national and international understanding and fellowship at the student level.

  7. Foster the recognition of the rights and responsibilities of students to the school, the community and humanity.


Membership:

To be eligible for membership in Student Government, a student must be enrolled in Dexter Hanley College at The University of Scranton, must be following an approved curriculum of The University of Scranton, must maintain a minimum index of 2.0 and must apply in writing. A slate listing the names of those students who apply for the Student Government and who have indicated an interest in being considered for membership will be presented to the Dexter Hanley Student Government for approval (depending on the number of vacancies that exist at the time).

Inquiries and/or letters of application should be addressed to the Dexter Hanley College office in O'Hara Hall (phone: 570-941-7580).  Meetings take place once a month (date, time, and location to be announced).
