Technology SkillsThe Technology Skills Tutorials have been developed to assist students and faculty in furthering their skills in technology related areas such as using Macromedia Flash, Windows Movie Maker, Web Page Creation and ANGEL Navigation. Enhancing your skills will assist you in completing assignments in many of your courses. To begin a tutorial, click on the image next to the tutorial or click on the title of the tutorial. If you need assistance after taking a tutorial, please feel free to visit the CTLE. Students who want to obtain a service offered by the Center should complete the appropriate online request form(s) or email the CTLE. Access Tutorials. Facebook TutorialThis tutorial will help you create a Facebook account as well as how to add friends, create a group, upload files, and add applications. How To Create & Use A Blog A Blog is a Social Networking Tool that can be used for teaching and learning purposes, communication, project management and presentations. In this tutorial you will learn how to create a Blog, post comments and create posts. How To Upload Files To YoutubeYouTube is a popular free video sharing website which lets users upload, view, and share video clips across the internet. In this tutorial, you will learn how to create an account on Youtube and upload videos from your computer. Using Windows Movie Maker to Create a "Visual Argument"In this tutorial, you will learn how to use Windows Movie Maker software to create a "Visual argument". The tutorial consists of 3 parts: a) an Overview of a student project that involves creating a "visual argument" through the use of technology; b) Tips for the creating the "visual argument"; and c) Instructions on Using Windows Movie Maker for this project. Creating Student Web PagesIn this tutorial, you will learn how to create your space on the Academic Web Server, create web pages using Microsoft FrontPage, and upload your files to your web space. Each student at the University of Scranton can create a personal website and host them on the University's Academic Server. Each student is allocated 2.5MB of space for their website. See this tutorial. Using Macromedia FlashIn this tutorial, you will learn the basics of Macromedia Flash 8 to create simple animations and presentations. You will find an overview of the Flash program, basic animation, importing objects and saving your document as a .SWF file. A basic knowledge of Photoshop or similar program is helpful.
