Faculty Responsibilities for Testing Accommodations
Faculty members are urged to comply with the following guidelines to assist
students with documented disabilities who require academic accommodations
(e.g., extended test taking time or use of a computer).
-
The faculty member will receive a list of
approved accommodations from the CTLE
for students with disabilities.
-
The CTLE will provide the approved testing accommodations in St. Thomas Hall,
5th Floor, Harper-McGinnis Wing.
-
Faculty should forward the student examination to Mary Ellen Pichiarello, the
Learning Enrichment Specialist, in the CTLE 48 hours prior to the scheduled
examination. This allows for the CTLE staff to implement appropriate accommodations.
The exam may be sent via campus mail, delivered by faculty, administrative assistants, or
work study students. The exam may also be e-mailed to ctle@scranton.edu.
-
Under no circumstances should the students be allowed to bring their examinations
to the CTLE.
-
If faculty members do not submit a student’s examination to the CTLE by the specified
exam time, the faculty member must make alternate testing arrangements.
-
Completed examinations will be returned to the faculty member within 24 hours after the
examination is administered.
If you have any questions or need further information, please contact Mary Ellen Pichiarello via
phone at x4039 or email pichiarellm2@scranton.edu.
