Biochemistry, Pre-Professional Track

Instituted for the Fall 2000 semester, this track of biochemistry is intended more for the student heading for a medical doctorate or a position in the industry that requires more biological study than chemical. Similar to the Biochemistry, Research Track, this track puts more emphasis on biology instead of chemical research and prepares the student for taking the MCAT's during their junior year. If the student is heading toward graduate school under biochemistry, the department recommends the Biochemistry, Research Track, because this track doesn't require the needed research that is done in the other track.

The following is the grid for the Biochemistry, Pre-Professional Track major at the University of Scranton. It is only what is recommended for when the student takes certain courses but is not the final decision for the course work, especially if the student advances out of General and Analytical Chemistry I by the exemption test given during the Summer Pre-Orientation.
