Academic Advising Resources for CAS Faculty

Responsibilities of Faculty Advisors

  • Maintain regular office hours and make time to see advisees during pre-registration period. See article 5.4.D in the Faculty Handbook.

  • Learn academic policies and procedures of The University of Scranton and communicate them to advisees.

  • Please keep the advising file updated. You are sent an advising file from the students' freshmen year. As you receive information concerning your advisees, please update the files. You may want to keep the file for a year or two after graduation, since it may be helpful if the advisee asks for a letter of recommendation.
