The Guest Access and Course Catalog features can greatly facilitate your course exposure to the university community and prospective students. Many faculty members have asked for Guest Access and Course Catalog to be enabled so that guest lecturers and/or other interested parties can locate and access portions of your course(s).
With Guest Access enabled, only the Announcements and Course Information areas will be available to people not enrolled in the course. All other areas of your course(s) will remain password protected.
The Course Catalog has a listing of all the subjects taught at the University; within each subject, the current semester courses would be listed. This will allow students not enrolled in a course to access the course, obtain the syllabus and view the announcements.
To access Blackboard as a Guest please do the following:
Please note that the Announcements area of your course cannot be password protected from a guest user. All other areas can be password protected, either by securing them or disable them. If you would like to secure the Course Information area of your course there are certain step that you need to follow. If you have multiple courses, you need to repeat these steps for each course.

This topic will also be covered in the Course Design and Setup workshop. Please refer to the Workshop/Training schedule in the OIT Newsletter for the date when this workshop is offered.
