Computer Requirements
The Windows and
Mac requirements below are general guidelines. If you are using a computer that
is slower or has less memory than those requirements you may or may not encounter
difficulty performing all the tasks.
Blackboard makes
use of resource-intensive graphics. Faculty members may be posting information
that necessitates audio and/or video capabilities on your computer.
Windows
- 120MHz Intel
Pentium or equivalent
- 32MB or more
of RAM
- 28.8Kbps or
better modem
- 16-bit or better
sound card and speakers
- 65,000-color
or better video display card
- Windows 95
or higher
- Internet connection
and Web browser (Netscape
4.05 or later or Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.01 or later)
Mac
- Mac OS 8.5
or later
- 64MB of RAM
- Virtual Memory
turned on, set to 128
- G3 233 (or
faster) PowerPC
- 28.8Kbps or
better Internet connection for both audio and video
