MHA PROGRAM
STUDENTS

Students in the Graduate Health Administration Program come from many backgrounds. The University of Scranton recognizes the unique needs of graduate students and makes the appropriate arrangements.

In our Program you will find:

  • A diverse student body consisting of men and women who may have just come out of an undergraduate school or have been working in the field for a number of years.
  • Faculty who have decades of real-world experience in Health Care Administration

  • Students from various localities, regions, and countries. Locally, students reside in the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre surrounding area. Many students come from other areas within Pennsylvania and other states such as New York, New Jersey, Washington, Connecticut, Maryland, and Virginia. Internationally, our students have come from countries such as Oman, China, and India.
  • Evening classes to better fit working students.
  • A wide range of student activities and organizations such as research, intramural sports, campus athletic events and community service.
  • A University of Scranton Chapter of the ACHE Higher Education Network

MHA Student Testimonials
  • "The University of Scranton offers a variety of learning experiences for its students. I particularly like the notion of an Administrative Residency, involvement with the American College of Healthcare Executives, and the blend of real-world experience within the lecture environment. These learning opportunities that the Health Administration program have given me, both inside and outside of the classroom, have helped prepare me for my future in Healthcare."     Brian Connolly, 25, Administrative Resident, Lehigh Valley Hospital and Health Network

  • "The MHA program at the University of Scranton has been great in that it has allowed me to meet new people and experience new challenges in the field of Health Administration. The faculty members are outstanding and are willing to help in your development at all costs. It has been a wonderful experience thus far and I continue to look forward to the upcoming year."
    Brinder Singh,
    Fairfax, VA

  • "I chose Scranton's MHA program for several reasons. First, I like classes in the evenings and I can schedule 2 classes back to back and only make one trip up to school per week. Secondly, this is a quality program with extensive learning opportunities in all realms of healthcare management. Finally, I like the networking and learning that comes from attending classes with other professionals in my field. I am very happy and proud that I chose Scranton for my graduate schooling."
Denise A. Beechay, RN, Administrative Nursing Supervisor at Geisinger Medical Center

  • "Looking back on my time at Scranton, I am most impressed with the well rounded, hands on experience I received in the healthcare field. During the course of my two years attending graduate school, I was able to gain real work experience in many healthcare settings from a group practice, to a large hospital, to an insurance company, to working with government funded grants. The professors and affiliated faculty members' connections were extremely valuable when looking to apply the knowledge learned in the classroom to the real, ever-changing healthcare world. The field experiences were able to give you the insight when looking at where you want your career to go."
    Joe Fruhman, MHA
