Through the SAS meetings, recruiters and other professionals of the accounting field inform members of employment opportunities and what their position involves. Meetings are normally held on Tuesdays or Thursdays during a free period and are located in Brennan Hall. SAS members are expected to attend meetings and are encouraged to ask the speaker(s) questions. SAS meetings are a great way to familiarize yourself with the accounting profession and to meet professionals in the field. If you would like to see a speaker present from a specific field, please contact the officers with your request.  The schedule provided is tentative, so please watch for updates and emails.

Mike would be interested to discuss the current status of the securities/investment markets and the events involving Bernard Madoff.  The Madoff case especially pertains to Mike’s duties at the PSC.  Mike can also answer questions or provide a brief summary relating to considerations college graduates should keep in mind when establishing a retirement savings plan.  Other questions pertaining to securities can be discussed too.

The Commission's goal is to protect the public from deceptive practices in connection with offers, sales and purchases of securities and investment products.  No name brand financial products or services are sold or recommended by the Commission, nor is advice given on specific name brand financial products.
